Pine Eastern-Reclaimed

Sourced from old factories, barns, and retired ships, reclaimed Southern Yellow Pine (RSYP) is a special and beautiful raw material addition for our block flooring. Our RSYP blocks are cut from the slower growing virgin growth trees with more annual growth rings per inch, making them even more durable than our standard SYP blocks which have served heavy industry for years, including custom sizes under the 4” dimension. Our Reclaimed Pine is more than just wood it is a piece of US History.

Pine-Eastern

Southern Yellow Pine is a softwood produced from lumber grown in the pine belt of the USA, from Mississippi, Alabama, and Georgia. Although Pine is a softwood, Pine blocks are extremely durable and reasonably priced. There are many different types of Pine trees; such as Ponderosa, Longleaf, and Southern Yellow. For decorative purposes, Eastern and Western Pine blocks show significant color variation from winter growth to summer growth. Blue-ing streaks add another dimension to this very popular species.

Red and White Oak is available, both new and reclaimed. Our Reclaimed Oak blocks can be sourced in larger face sizes.

Mesquite Rounds

Mesquite is the only species that we offer in a round format. Mesquite Rounds are available, with or without bark. It is one of the most beautiful and enduring hardwoods available. It is one of the best choices for End-Grain flooring, because of its hardness and stability. Mesquite trees yield a finished wood with warm red, brown, tan, or yellow tones and swirling grain. We offer domestic and imported mesquite in red, tan, brown, and yellow.

Mesquite is one of the most beautiful and enduring hardwoods available. It is one of the best choices for End-Grain flooring, because of its hardness and stability. We offer domestic and imported mesquite. Mesquite trees yield a finished wood with warm red, brown, tan, or yellow tones and swirling grain. Mesquite can be stained, but most Mesquite installations are natural or dark coloration.

Maple

Maple is a hardwood that grows primarily in North America. It has a creamy white color, uniform in texture and grain. Maple wood flooring is a popular selection for indoor sport facilities.

Mahogany

Our Mahogany comes to us from Africa. Mahogany can vary in color and can darken slightly over time, but is always is a rich straight grained reddish brown hardwood. Relatively free of voids and pockets, Mahogany end grain is extremely durable, stable, and very handsome, especially with a patina oil finish.

Larch Plank

Larch is a European softwood which is part of the Fir family. Its color ranges from nearly white to a medium orange-brown. Larch blocks tend to have wider growth rings than Fir, but are similar in color and performance.

Hornbeam

Hornbeam is a hardwood that can be found in the United States, but is not too well known. Our Hornbeam blocks are manufactured from European Hornbeam. It has a light, silver-white to cream color, similar to the color of Maple. The annual growth rings that look like Oak.

Hickory-Reclaimed

Hickory is a very stiff, dense and strong hardwood. Hickory grows in abundance in the Eastern United States and parts of Canada. This hardwood ranges in color from white to tan and has significant color change from one season growth to the next. At this time we only offer reclaimed Hickory blocks produced from lumber sourced from Pennsylvania and Ohio.

Hemlock

Hemlock is a softwood that grows primarily in Western Canada and Western United States.The heartwood and sapwood of hemlock are both a light shade of brown.

Fir Strip Black Walnut

Douglas Fir (softwood) is a popular choice for End-Grain Block Flooring. Fir Blocks are produced from lumber grown on the west coast, from Oregon and Washington. This species is known for its warm, subtle appearance. Fir takes stain extremely well, in fact, manipulating the color of a Fir block floor is quite common. Our blocks are cut from slow-growing, very large trees. Fir blocks are available as individual blocks installed one block at a time, as well as in strips with a wire system for ease of installation. Available FSC certified upon request.

Elm-Reclaimed

Our reclaimed Elm comes to us from Canada. This hardwood ranges in color from light brown to dark brown. Elm has soft contrasting tight growth rings.

Cypress

Cypress has a unique property of being the only commercial softwood that is harder than red oak. Cypress grows in swampy areas from Delaware to Florida and in parts of Australia. Its color ranges from honey-gold to brown with very tight growth rings.* We offer two choices in Cypress: Engineered refinished boards and Individual unfinished blocks.

Cherry

Cherry is a hardwood that grows in the northern United States. It has a reddish-brown color similar to Alder, though tighter growth rings. Cherry will darken with age. Although popular for cabinetry and furniture, the most common use for cherry is for wood flooring.

Butternut-Reclaimed

Butternut is referred to as a soft hardwood. It’s part of the walnut family, with a rich, warm buttery tan color. It grows throughout the Midwestern and Northeastern United States, most common in Ohio. The end grain is the most durable way to use this softer wood species. All of our Butternut blocks are cut from reclaimed logs, but not FSC certified.

Black Locus Konnect

Black Locust, first introduced by us for exterior application, and now frequently chosen for interiors as well. Individual blocks or in our new Konnect panel format. A beautiful, stable, and our most rot resistance specie, for the great outdoors!

Black Locust

Black Locust is a hard, strong wood, which can be used for interior or exterior space due to its stability and rot resistance. It has good weathering characteristics and is frequently used as fence posts for its outdoor longevity.

Birch

Birch is a hardwood that grows primarily in northeast U.S. and Canada. It is in the same family as alder and hornbeam. Birch is commonly called gray, white, black, curly, silver, and even yellow birch. Its sapwood is creamy white, while the heartwood is golden brown. Birch is a very attractive choice for end grain, especially with water-based urethane.

Ash

Ash is a hardwood, which grows in North America and is most popular for construction of baseball bats. It has a light tan to a dark brown color. It is similar in appearance to white oak, but frequently more yellow.

Alder Strip Block

Alder is a hardwood, which is part of the Birch family. It is known to be harvested in Southeastern Canada and Northeastern United States, due to the climate. Alder has a reddish-brown color with tight annual growth rings similar to cherry.
